Inspiration:
An August 15th 1945 Montreal Star newspaper saved by my father was the inspiration for this piece. That and a book by A A Milne, Now We Are Six. It was the end of six long years of war and I also was six.
Materials and Process:
A child's underdress made from a brown paper pattern, then images of photos from the newspaper to mimic the dress was fused onto it. Cotton, newspaper, hand stitching, mounted on structure.
